Fresh tracks of a female and atleast 2 of her 3 cubs congregating together left us milling around the area for some time in the hope of finding them. Fortunately for us one of the youngsters decided not to wonder off with the rest of the quarry and lay at rest upon a large leadwood tree. The young male around 11 months old reacted unlike the rest of his skittish little family, he remained super relaxed with us being around to view him. The height of the tree in which he lay up in at around 15 – 20m made photo oppurtunities in the fading light quite tricky but atleast we managed to claim a few decent pics of him.

He reminded me of the characters from the movie ‘Gremlin’ with those massive ears. This was the last pic I got of him before he bravily climbed even further to around 20m .
